The bad news is, if it can be considered bad news, I would be ever so grateful if you would repost your comments there where others can share them. Either way, thank you so much for taking the time. The Food Apprecianadohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15239086968284841820noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4122116860652110072.post-56019774360358868222013-03-16T10:54:17.145-07:002013-03-16T10:54:17.145-07:00Speaking of immediate embraces, your writing is al...Speaking of immediate embraces, your writing is also warm and hospitable. Your reverie of childhood really touched me. My Italian grandparents also lived in San Francisco and I remember City of Paris very well and was recently appreciating the fact that Neiman Marcus wasn't allowed to destroy the rotunda, where they currently serve a very nice Afternoon Tea under that magnificent dome. Your Aunt Susan would have appreciated it. My family also had an East Bay connection. I fondly remember piling into the car after Sunday dinner with my mother's parents in San Francisco to drive over the Bay Bridge, to have dessert with my father's family. Remember the hand painted Ghirardelli Chocolate sign on the SF side of the bridge? Or the Hamm's brewery neon sign with it's ever ebbing and flowing beer glass? Perhaps SF was OZ back then.

But I digress; your writing is lovely and I hope you decide to continue with your reviews. I see it has been several months since this last entry. You've convinced me to try Rich Table and now that I've found your blog I'm going to try some of your suggestions from the East Bay which I love to explore, but feel slightly intimidated by, since I don't know it very well. Keep up the great work. BTW I found your blog through Foodspotting; thanks for linking it to your profile.justafoodiehttp://www.wellfedtravel.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4122116860652110072.post-50447422673801919542012-10-08T20:33:08.725-07:002012-10-08T20:33:08.725-07:00I really don't know anything about any other M...I really don't know anything about any other Mama's location! I’m working for a new start-up called HeyLets and we’re trying to get people excited about doing what you do. We want our users to rediscover their city through mini-recommendations from people with similar interests and hopefully pay it forward. I was wondering, would you be interested in sharing some of your positive experiences in your community with us? I seem to recall there was another one, perhaps, that closed at some point.

I did enjoy Mama's and I also have fond memories of spending time at Dave's Coffee shop, right off Broadway up the street, where, during the mid eighties, I would enjoy long conversations over fries and coffee, at 3 in the morn (after the pub closed), served by waitresses Kathy (the Gypsy ?) and an Asian woman (Vietnamese ?) who we used to call "Lemon." I do recall the other places you mentioned, but Daves was my place.

Thanks for sharing your words and love.Mr. Puppovichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06367935336994961954noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4122116860652110072.post-34679447666696246392012-08-07T18:17:38.944-07:002012-08-07T18:17:38.944-07:00It’s so nice to see people returning to a diet of ...It’s so nice to see people returning to a diet of fresh real food! You have to read their "reviews" as basically advertisements which pisses me off sometimes (and why I started my blog). Not everyone has the luxury of the food as art that you are lucky enough to enjoy in the Bay Area. :)

I still think honesty is the best policy....Erin in Indyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06236924407558284371noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4122116860652110072.post-26636833316868686782011-01-06T13:07:46.557-08:002011-01-06T13:07:46.557-08:00I love this place!
