About Me

My photo
The Food Apprecianado
For as long as I can remember, meals have been an opportunity to create cherished memories with loved ones. Born and raised in Oakland, I can recall a childhood shaped by shrimp cocktails at the Sea Wolf ; steak at New Lucky’s; pancakes at Biff’s after Sunday mass. All these meals were shared with family. Meals become rituals that mark the days of our lives — each gathering an opportunity to interact with family and reconnect with friends. As Oakland develops a new culinary vitality new restaurants replace the old. This blog is an acknowledgment of the artistry of those who cook for us as we break bread with those we love. Pick a place and make a memory of your own!
